Council & National Delegates
Delegates are an essential part of the Girl Scout democratic process at the council and national levels.
Our corporate membership attends the meeting, which includes board members, Board Development Committee members, and council delegates/alternates elected by service units.

Delegates are an essential part of the Girl Scout democratic process at the council and national levels.
Council Delegates
Council delegates and alternates are elected by their service units to represent them and vote on their behalf. They are also the primary channel of communication between council members and GSSEM's Board of Directors. Adults serve a two-year term, and girls serve a one-year term.
National Delegates
National delegates and alternates are selected by GSSEM's Board Development Committee to represent the council at GSUSA's triennial national convention, where they discuss, debate, and vote on issues important to the Girl Scout Movement. They're elected at the Annual Meeting and serve a three-year term.
