GSSEM Creative Compass Patch Program: Join artists Amanda Koss, RJ
and Cheryl Jones to learn smartphone photography skills on a guided
tour and photo hunt through the various art installations and murals
unique to Detroit's Eastern Market!
The GSSEM Creative
Compass Patch Program, under the creation and expertise of local
artist Amanda Koss, is designed to be a transformative program to
inspire Girl Scouts to reach their highest potential by recognizing
and unlocking their inherent creative abilities! By connecting Girl
Scouts with working artists, artisans, and innovative opportunities -
the program fosters curiosity, self-expression, and personal growth.
In a supportive and empowering environment, Girl Scouts will explore
unconventional ways to impact their communities while discovering
their own unique creative paths.
Created by artist and
curator Amanda Koss, this program reflects her commitment to
empowering youth, nurturing creativity, and providing access to the
tools and opportunities needed to achieve their dreams.
During this event, participants will review basic photography
techniques with Detroit photographers RJ and Cheryl Jones. The
instructors will guide us through Eastern Market's art installations
and murals pointing out elements and how to create interesting photos
from the world around us.
NOTE: Particpants must
