Celebrate Pi(e) Day at Camp Hawthorn Hollow by earning your Math in
Nature 2 badges and, of course, making pie!
During this
event, Girl Scouts will work towards earning their Math in Nature 2
badges, integrating math concepts with outdoor exploration. And a Pi
Day Party wouldn't be complete without pie, so naturally we'll be
making pie iron pies over a campfire!
Daisies will learn
to identify shapes and patterns in nature, measure objects, and create
their own units of measurement.
Brownies will discover
the mathematical patterns and principles present in nature, such as
symmetry, measurement, and counting.
Juniors will use
math to understand natural phenomena, such as telling time with
nature, tracking weather, and measuring the circumference of
trees.

PLEASE note
that this is NOT a drop-off event and proper Girl Scout to Adult
safety ratios MUST be met in order to participate in the event.
