Girls of all faiths are welcomed and encouraged to attend this program.

Please join us for the Religious Relationships Annual "My Promise, My Faith" Program. This year, we are excited to offer girls for the first time ever, the opportunity to learn about the oldest world religion, Hinduism. Spend the afternoon at the Kasi Vishwanath Temple located in Flint Twp. The girls will tour the temple, learn about how different faith traditions are supported by the Girl Scout Movement, complete the requirements of the My Promise My Faith Pin, string an artificial flower garland, and participate in other activities. A snack will be provided.

There are 13 different My Promise My Faith Pins (one per Girl Scout Level and year). We will not be providing the pin at the event, but we will provide detailed written instructions on how to obtain it for your troop/daughter. They are less than $5 each.

Consider bringing a water bottle.

Please wear your Girl Scout smock/vest/sash

Dress Code:

*Out of respect for the Hindu Tradition, everyone must wear a shirt with sleeves (no tank tops or sleeveless shirts), long pants, and closed-toe shoes and socks.
*Shoes are okay in the auditorium, but wear socks because no shoes are allowed in the temple.
*Legs should be completely covered with pants or a floor-length skirt/dress
*Short-sleeve tops are acceptable but must minimally have a short sleeve. (No sleeveless or tank tops!)

Costs:

$5.00 per girl

$0.00 per adult
