Complete Event Description:
Come join your Outdoor Education Team and the Master Anglers of the
Detroit River for an afternoon of specialty fishing on the Detroit
River in search of Walleye! Once you catch your limit (or you have
reached your 2.5 hour time limit), you'll head back to the dock for a
fish fry!
During this event, participants will head out
on the Detroit River under the expert eye and guidance of local
Detroit River Walleye Charter Captains for an unforgettable
experience! Participants will learn the different methods, preferred
gear set-ups, and top secret "walleye hot spots" along the
Detroit River - all while taking in the sights of downtown Detroit
from a river viewpoint!
The Charter Captains will provide
all necessary safety gear, fishing gear, and instruction to make your
participation in this event a success! Once you return to the dock,
there will be a crew on land that will show you how to properly fillet
your walleye and pan-fry the fillets for a tasty treat (if
interested)! Depending on catch size and quantity, participants will
also be welcome to take their catch home with them - already cleaned
and ready for your freezer!
