GSSEM Creative Compass Patch Program: Join local, renowned artist
Amanda Koss at her studio to create two works of art - one to take
home, and then one to be proudly displayed in a gallery art show in
Detroit for family and friends to attend!
The GSSEM
Creative Compass Patch Program, under the creation and expertise of
local artist Amanda Koss, is designed to be a transformative program
to inspire Girl Scouts to reach their highest potential by recognizing
and unlocking their inherent creative abilities! By connecting Girl
Scouts with working artists, artisans, and innovative opportunities -
the program fosters curiosity, self-expression, and personal growth.
In a supportive and empowering environment, Girl Scouts will explore
unconventional ways to impact their communities while discovering
their own unique creative paths.
Created by artist and
curator Amanda Koss, this program reflects her commitment to
empowering youth, nurturing creativity, and providing access to the
tools and opportunities needed to achieve their dreams.
Patch Session #7: Gallery Art Exhibition
During this event, Girl Scouts will work together to
develop a theme and title for their art show, each contributing a
unique piece of artwork for display. They are encouraged to create two
pieces of varying sizes-one to take home and one to leave with artist
and curator Amanda Koss.
The exhibition will be hosted at
The Gallery at Brewery Park, located on the main floor of the Crain
Building in Detroit, throughout the month of August. To celebrate
their achievements, a two-hour open house will be held on Saturday
August 9th, offering Girl Scouts the opportunity to showcase their
work to family and friends while enjoying light refreshments in a
supportive, creative atmosphere.
