Girl Scout Merchandise (GSM) has announced price increases for uniforms, insignias and pins, and publications products.
This is due to ongoing supply chain issues, rising material and labor costs, and the current economic problems of inflation.
The increase of product prices will take effect on Monday, July 11, online and in store.
For several years, GSM worked to absorb cost increases in shipping, packaging, and processing. GSM suppliers inevitably need to pass on cost increases the suppliers have faced on several product categories. GSM can no longer avoid taking a price increase on most product categories.
That means that Girl Scout councils, including GSSEM, will experience higher costs for the merchandise sold. Those costs will be reflected in pricing for Girl Scouts merchandise in GSSEM council shops, also effective July 11.
Taking price increases is always a difficult decision that's not made lightly. We hope that, providing this information with advance notice, our volunteers and parents will have the opportunity to plan for the upcoming Girl Scout membership year.
GSSEM appreciates your understanding of the current need for the price increases, and we thank you for your continued support of girls and Girl Scouting.
