Have you ever wondered what it is like to put on a beekeeper suit and learn how to take care of an active beehive? Come on out and join us at the hives at the Outdoor Adventure Center in Detroit, MI with Bees in the D to learn about bee conservation!

Join Brian Peterson from Bees in the D as he shares his passion about the education and conservation of the all- important pollinator, the honey bee. He will share his journey into the world of beekeeping, explaining common misconceptions, and the fascinating life of the honeybee. Workshop participants will learn the basics of beekeeping and the tools needed and will have the opportunity to visit active hives! Join us to find out what all the buzz is about with beekeeping!

Included in Girl cost:
* 2 hours of hands on learning with a real, active beehive
* Full experience wearing a real beekeeper suit
* GSSEM Beekeeper Patch

Costs:
$35.00 per girl
$35.00 per adult

$35.00 per tagalong: (Regsiter as girl non-member)

PLEASE note that this is NOT a drop-off event and proper Girl Scout to Adult safety ratios MUST be met in order to participate in the event.


Please be prompt in picking up your Girl Scout from events. If you are going to be late, you must contact your event organizer to notify them of the late pickup. After 15 minutes, if no one has called the event organizer, activity staff will call the guardian and if needed, emergency contact. Girl Scouts left after 1 hour past the end of activity, without notification, will be released to the authorities or child protective services.
