Daisies and Brownies let's earn our Hispanic Heritage Month Patch and take a trip to Oaxaca, Mexico on Thursday, September 24 with the Crayola Imagine Arts Academy of Michigan.
Let's go to Oaxaca, Mexico, and learn the story of the alebrije dream and how it unleashed a whole new art form. We'll take our creativity to the wild side by blending fauna and flora into amazing animal sculptures. Children learn about the history of Mexico and sculpture principles. They use their creativity and are inspired by real Mexican alebrijes to brainstorm, sketch, plan, and sculpt their own versions of these magical creatures.
Cost:
- $35 per Girl Scout
- $42 per tagalong (register as girl non member)
- $0 adult
Included in Girl Scout and non-member Registration Cost:
- 1.25 hours of programming with experts
- Make-and-take an Alebrijes; animal sculpture
- Daisies and Brownies earn their Hispanic Heritage Multicultural Patch
- Daisies will have met their Art and Design Badge requirements - the Art and Design badge is NOT PROVIDED
*PLEASE NOTE: This is not a drop-off event. Girls may come with their troop leader or guardian.
