Phenology. Pheno- what? It is the observation and measurement of events over time. Girl Scouts will become community scientists as they dive deeper into Michigan's four seasons with this four part patch series. This session will focus on FALL!
Go on a fall hike at Humbug Marsh at the USFWS Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge! Park Ranger Todd will guide you on the trail, so you'll have the perfect opportunity to search for animals' fall habitats and note seasonal changes along the trails! At the end of the event, each Girl Scout will get to make a "decomposing pumpkin terrarium" to monitor over the winter months and see how nature's natural decomposers go to work!
