Join the naturalist staff at Stony Creek around the campfire for our
new event series - "Campfire Stories"! We will read
"Light the Sky, Firefly!", learn all about bioluminescence,
how to be a firefly eco-steward, go on a hike to search for
fireflies,& make a firefly craft to take home!
During
this event, participants will gather around the campfire to read the
book "Light the Sky, Firefly" - a fun story explaining the
unique lifecycle of fireflies. After the story, participants will have
the opportunity to roast a marshmallow over the fire for a tasty
s'more. Next, the group will learn how to play their part in being
proper eco-stewards to help conserve firefly species in their own
backyards. We will end the event with creating a one-of-a-kind firefly
craft to take home!
