Calling all Brownies and Juniors! Come out and enjoy the changing of the seasons as we discover why the leaves change color, why they fall, and how apples go from a seed to a delicious drink.
Participants will explore the functions of leaves, while collecting them from different tree species. Participants will use these leaves to identify the trees and start their adventures in leaf journaling. Participants also look for other colors found on trees - berries, seeds, and apples!
Why do some trees grow berries or apples and others grow winged seeds? Participants will learn about plant life cycles, create a food chain, then take part in a food chain. Participants will get a chance to grind an apple in an apple press and experience making real apple cider. After that, they'll get to relax with a cup of cider and a donut.
