GSSEM Creative Compass Patch Program: Join artist Amanda Koss as we become muralists and extend our community mural in Brewery Park!

The GSSEM Creative Compass Patch Program, under the creation and expertise of local artist Amanda Koss, is designed to be a transformative program to inspire Girl Scouts to reach their highest potential by recognizing and unlocking their inherent creative abilities! By connecting Girl Scouts with working artists, artisans, and innovative opportunities - the program fosters curiosity, self-expression, and personal growth. In a supportive and empowering environment, Girl Scouts will explore unconventional ways to impact their communities while discovering their own unique creative paths.

Created by artist and curator Amanda Koss, this program reflects her commitment to empowering youth, nurturing creativity, and providing access to the tools and opportunities needed to achieve their dreams.

During this event, Girl Scouts will learn the 'behind-the-scenes' secrets of professional muralists, from wall prep to final strokes. Start by creating a personal concept on canvas that complements our current exhibit, then share your inspiration with your fellow Girl Scouts. Once the brainstorming is done, it's time to paint! Each Girl Scout will be assigned a prepped section of the wall to bring to life. By the end of the day, you'll have helped create a permanent masterpiece within the iconic Eastern Market that is known for its murals and have a custom canvas of your own to take home.
