GSSEM Creative Compass Patch Program: Come on out to Urban Seed to engage in a hands-on experience about mutual aid and grassroots community projects, designed to teach children where food comes from and promote inclusivity across age groups.
The GSSEM Creative Compass Patch Program, under the creation and expertise of local artist Amanda Koss, is designed to be a transformative program to inspire Girl Scouts to reach their highest potential by recognizing and unlocking their inherent creative abilities! By connecting Girl Scouts with working artists, artisans, and innovative opportunities - the program fosters curiosity, self-expression, and personal growth. In a supportive and empowering environment, Girl Scouts will explore unconventional ways to impact their communities while discovering their own unique creative paths.
Created by artist and curator Amanda Koss, this program reflects her commitment to empowering youth, nurturing creativity, and providing access to the tools and opportunities needed to achieve their dreams.
Urban Seed has invited the Girl Scouts to engage in a hands-on learning experience about mutual aid and grassroots community projects, designed to teach children where food comes from and promote inclusivity across age groups.
Girl Scouts will have the opportunity to work in the "Giving Garden" - a local initiative that provides free food to the community. During their visit, they will learn about gardening, from planting and harvesting to weighing produce. They'll also explore the vital roles of bees and butterflies in the garden's ecosystem and take a guided tour.
Additionally, Girl Scouts will participate in rock painting, contributing their artwork to brighten the garden space. This experience will deepen their connection to nature, sustainability, and community service.
