Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan warmly and proudly congratulates our board chair Telva McGruder on her promotion to General Motors first-ever Chief of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion!

In her new role, Telva will:

  • Lead the development and execution of strategies that will ensure positive change toward a high-performing, inclusive organizational culture.
  • Partner closely with functional teams, GM employee resource groups, and centers of expertise to ensure excellent practices for hiring, developing, and retaining diverse candidates at all levels.
  • Mature and develop community partnerships that align with General Motors' commitment to improve places where we live and work.
  • Engage with external resources and organizations to study, understand and take action on community disparities.

GSSEM is proud of Telva's achievement, which serves as an inspiration to girls throughout our Council and the region. We're honored to have Telva's unwavering support, guidance, and leadership helping us provide girls the amazing experiences that only Girl Scouts can.
