Over the coming weeks, we'll individually feature the exceptional young women who earned Gold Awards at our annual Honor Reception on Sunday, April 29 at the San Marino Club in Troy.
Both Silver and Gold awards were awarded to numerous girls. The Gold Award, which is the highest Girl Scout award possible, was given to 16 deserving awardees. The Gold Award is presented to Senior and Ambassador level Girl Scouts who achieve excellence by displaying leadership and making a mark on their communities that will create a lasting impact on the lives of others.
"I am so proud of these girls. They are all shining examples of the impact Girl Scouts makes," said Denise Dalrymple, CEO of GSSEM. "Each girl has made an extraordinary difference in her community by taking civic action on causes they care about."
Earning the prestigious Girl Scout Gold Award places girls in an elite group of Girl Scouts who will be distinguished from their peers on college applications, scholarship opportunities, job interviews, and in many other aspects of their lives. It is truly an honor that girls can be proud of for the rest of their lives.
Congratulations to all of our award recipients! We hope you enjoy our 2018 Gold Awardee stories.
