Girl Scouting in the Summer!
An easy, low-stress way of keeping Girl Scouts engaged over the summer is to simply meet up in the middle of summer. Get together to have some fun—play games, sing songs, do some arts and crafts—or do something to benefit your community like a park cleanup or other volunteer project. Also, for the 4th of July, if your community has a parade, consider getting your troop together to march in your local parade!
GET READY FOR THE NEW TROOP YEAR
Summer is also a great time to start planning for the next Girl Scout year! It’s time to assess who’s in for a year of fun Girl Scouts adventures. Find out who’s coming back for the next awesome Girl Scout year, and start thinking about the general layout of activities for the year.
Some things you and your Troop Support Team might discuss over the summer to help plan for the next year:
- Day, time, and location of troop meetings
- Journeys, badges and awards to go after this year
- Investiture/Rededication ceremony
- Trips and service projects
- Fall Product Program and Cookie Program
