Outdoor Skills Day - Level 3
Get ready for your first camping trip! With skills from level 3 you will be prepared for a basic camping trip at a campground or in your backyard. Tie yourself up in knots learning about basic knots and how we use them at a campsite. Experience building different types of fires and lighting them with matches. Gain hands-on experience building tents with information on different gear that you need to survive a night in a tent.
During this event girls and adults will take place in an active fun learning experience including hands-on learning and games. At least a portion of this event will take place outdoors no matter the weather, please ensure that everyone attending is dressed appropriately including closed-toe shoes.
Cost is $15 per attendee: Event fee includes event activities, supplies and the corresponding mini Outdoor Skills patches (for girls only).
ALL PARTICIPANTS BRING A BROWN BAG LUNCH. No food or drink will be provided.
This is a girl and adult event, challenge by choice but participation by all attendees is highly encouraged. Troops are responsible for meeting their own safety ratios as outlined in Volunteer Essentials Part 3: Safety. Space is limited. Individual girls must attend with a participating parent or guardian. No tagalongs can be accommodated.
The registration deadline is one week prior to event. No full or partial refunds will be issued after this date.
