Join Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan at the Detroit Zoo!

Explore 125 acres of naturalistic exhibits from aardvarks to zebras and features such as award-winning exhibits like National Amphibian Conservation Center, Great Apes of Harambee, and the Arctic Ring of Life. 

Bridging Ceremony
Celebrate National Bridging Week by participating in GSSEM's council-wide bridging ceremony at the Detroit Zoo! The event will be during Meet Me at the Zoo at 1:00pm. You can pre-register for it by clicking a link in the email confirmation you'll get approximately 10 days after registering for Meet Me at the Zoo.

In order to attend the council-wide bridging ceremony, you must purchase tickets for Meet Me at the Zoo.

  • Daisies - Outdoor Art Maker
  • Brownies - Outdoor Art Creator
  • Juniors - Outdoor Art Explorer
  • Cadettes - Outdoor Art Apprentice

Zoo Activities
Child (Girl Scout or sibling) registration through GSSEM includes a passport at check-in. This passport will include a scavenger hunt-type activity (specific to each age level) to be stamped at 3 stops along your visit, 1 activity station, and 2 craft stations. (totaling 6 stamps). Activity stations will be open from 11:00am - 3:00pm and are exclusive to our Girl Scouts who are pre-registered. This includes admission to the zoo, activity stations, participation patch (badges are not included), and use of Pierson Lake Pavilion.

All siblings wishing to be included in the activity and craft stations must purchase a girl ticket for the appropriate grade level. Sorry, no zoo children passes can be honored.

Girls must be accompanied by their families or troops must meet the adult-to-girl ratios as outlined in Volunteer Essentials: Safety.

Costs:

  • $14 per child
  • $9 per adult

You must purchase the appropriate age level to assure your child is participating in the right activities; tickets are not transferable from one age level to another or from adult to child, etc.

Registration deadline: April 28 (or sooner if capacity is reached)

Refunds are available when requested in writing (email is acceptable) before the registration deadline. Cancellations after the registration deadline are non-refundable and non-transferable. Full refunds will be issued if a council event or series is cancelled.
