Moxie Talks; Social Entrepreneurship
Moxie Talks is an event for girls in 9th – 12th grades! Inspired by the revolutionary TED Talks, Moxie Talks brings together girls and inspirational women who share invaluable information and inspiration. Speakers share thought-provoking, prepared talks that foster learning, inspire change, and provoke wonder and stimulating conversations about social entrepreneurship. Social entreprenuership is the use of start up companies and other entrepreneurs to develope, fund and implement solutions to social, cultural, or environmental issues. It's a networking and mentoring opportunity for all attendees.
This Moxie Talkss aimed at raising awareness about issues that specifically impact girls and women in today’s society while building leadership skills. It is a space for girls where they can express their feelings and opinions, ask questions, share stories and experiences, learn, challenge themselves, and discuss issues or concerns.
This is a free event due to the generous donations of our adult mentors and sponsors.
Registration deadline is January 2, 2019 (or when capacity has been filled). Advance registration is required for all girls attending Moxie Talks. Girls in the 9 -12 grade may attend and are encouraged to bring a friend! (But your friend must pre-register, too!) Space is limited!
