Juniors come join your Outdoor Education Department and the Farm
Staff at Bowers School farm for a "mini badge-a-palooza"
event to earn your Junior Gardener and Flower Badges!
Gardener: The Farm has many different garden spaces
that all serve special purposes. During this event, participants will
tour the production gardens, Master Gardens, and the Community Garden.
We will see what's growing and taste something straight from the soil!
We will learn how we plan and plant our gardens - from seed catalogs
to designing the plots, seed starting in the greenhouse and hoop
house, to harvesting and stocking our Farm Store - a farmer's work is
never done. Discover plant needs, then select and plant your own seed
to take home and nurture!
Flowers: Tour
the Farm to discover wild and cultivated flowers. We will learn how
flowers use their surroundings to grow and survive. We will take a
closer look to see how different plant parts work together to help
flowers thrive and we will learn the "language" of flowers
and the meanings behind some flower favorites. Then get the chance to
make your own creation using flowers.
