Working with Adults

Make a difference behind the scenes working with other adults to support Girl Scout Leaders in their work with girls. Two or more volunteers can share any of the positions listed below.

 

  • Troop Organizers – Serve a geographic area in helping to form new troops, to sign up new girls and adults into existing troops at schools, community centers, and places of worship.
  • Registrars – process registration paperwork from local troop leaders and send into the main office.
  • Service Unit Managers - Serve a geographic area in an administrative capacity – maintain records, regularly communicate with volunteers and Council staff through mail, e-mail, meetings, and phone calls.
  • First-Aid and CPR Trainers – Maintain First Aid and CPR instructor training and pass on those skills to other Girl Scout Volunteers.
  • Fall Sale Managers – Coordinate the Fall Candy, Nut, and Magazine sales, maintain records, deliver product and motivate leaders and key volunteers for a geographic area.
  • Cookie Sale Managers – Coordinate the annual Girl Scout Cookie Sale program, maintain records, deliver product and motivate leaders and key volunteers for a geographic area.
  • Family Giving Coordinators – Encouraging families to donate to Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan and maintain records for the troop or a geographic area.
  • Council Facilitator – Do you have skills in public speaking and/or making information clear to others? Learn more about adult learning through GSSEM and help us offer high-quality learning opportunities to other volunteers.
