Macomb County Santa Claus Parade

Girl Scouts meet up as a community to celebrate Girl Scouting and march in a parade with their community.  Girls can create a theme for their troop to dress up (no Santa costumes allowed in the parade-Mt. Clemens will have a Santa at the end of the parade) and/or make a float (please contact Jenne if you are making a float, floats must arrive much earlier than groups walking in the parade).  Girls can bring something to pass out (e.g.

Journey Focus: Hands on Investigation

This 2-hour, in-person course provides volunteers with an in-depth, total dissection of the Journeys.  Learn how to present, engage and have fun with girls and the Journeys.  Create tools to ensure girl-led activities. 

Volunteer Orientation

This 3-hour, in-person course is a comprehensive orientation to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience and covers information that is vital for Troop and Program Volunteers.  Topics include: GSSEM resources about Program, Money &  Safety, the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, Girl's Guide to Girl Scouting and Leadership Journeys.  Troop and Program Volunteers are required to take this course online, in-person or in both formats.

Healthy You III

Brownies in grades 2-3 will earn their My Best Self Badge while girls in Juniors in grades 4-5 will participate in stations to earn their Staying Fit Badge.  Stations will include kick boxing, wallyball, swimming and badge work listed above. Food: Late night snack will consist of pizza, lemonade and water. Snacks of popcorn, lemonade and water will be available all night. Breakfast bar, lemonade and water will be served in the morning. There will be rooms used for rest time which will include an age appropriate movie for each group.

Girls Need Space Astronomy Workshop for Brownies

Find your space at Longway Planetarium! Daisy Scouts will work together to solve a planetary puzzle and Brownies will work in groups to design and build model lunar transportation vehicles. Daisies and Brownies will watch as Planetarium staff “cook” a comet and will then use craft materials to build their own comet to take home. Girls will also visit the Sky Theater to see The Super Sky Show and enjoy a tour of the current night sky.
The event will consist of these three stations: Lunar Transportation Vehicle, Cooking Comets, and The Super Sky Show. Snack included.
