Create Ideas, Design &Fabricate in Flint

Experience the exciting world of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Math) through a hands-on adventure. You will be exposed to several areas of STEM, as you get a chance to create ideas, design and fabricate.

This exciting STEM-based activity is a collaboration with the Technology Division at Mott Community College. In this fast-paced experience, you will be given a problem and y you will design and produce a creative solution to the problem. Mott Technology Division faculty will work with you as you use the very latest in digital design, electronics and digital design, electronics and digital fabrication technology. You will be exposed to several great STEM careers in high-growth fields.

The team problem solving activity will include four distinct areas of technology:
•CADD (Computer Aided Design & Drafting)- design a 3-D model
•Digital Fabrication-create the 3D model
•Electronics-add electronic features like LED lights, motors, and potentially buzzers
•Problem Solving-visualize solutions and implement them to create a product

Your hands on activities will take place in the FabLab which is a part of a global network of fabrication sites where you can take your idea and make it into a working product. This is the same technology used by Fortune 500 and entrepreneurs alike.
