Monroe 2014 Labor Day Parade

Monroe/Lenawee AFL-CIO Labor Day Parade will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2014 through Downtown Monroe.
Community 12 has an online sign up for any Girl Scout member (girl w/adult supervision) to participate in the Labor Day parade with line up at 9 am on Jones Ave - Parade Kick Off at 10 am.
The parade route will be 1.7 miles and ends at St. Mary's Park.
This parade will coincide with the 8th Annual River Raisin Labor Day Bar-B-Que Festival in the streets of historic Downtown Monroe.

SOLD OUT Junior Savvy Shopper Badge Workshop in Clinton Township

Food and water, clean clothes, a place to live: These are things everyone needs. A closet full of shoes, a new desk, and tickets to a movie: These are things people want. But how do you figure out what you need and what you want? You might find it's not as easy as you think! $5 per girl includes snack, supplies, and badge! Troops must maintain adult:girl ratio, and individuals must attend with an adult chaperon. This is a Community Event! Girls in the Community Troop can use Program Credits towards participation! 2014 Girl Scout District Games in Farmington Hills

Spend the weekend learning Outdoor Survival Skills in a Hunger Games style competition. Girls will be able to complete the requirements for the Cadette level Field Day Badge or the Senior-­‐level Adventurer Badge during the event.

A Fun Day of Archery in Oakland Twp.

Plan for the Day:
 *Shoot at standard field targets
 *Try your hand at our “hunting” course (a walk through the woods to shoot at a variety of fun targets)
 *Learn how to make an arrow
 *Learn about the history of archery

This is a troop money earning event, program credits CANNOT be used for registration payment.

SOLD OUT:  Kettering University will be hosting its third annual Girl Scout STEM Day Camp for Brownies (Senses Badge-Sold Out 8/5/14), Juniors (Detective Badge SOLD OUT 8/2/14) and Cadettes (Special Agent Badge-SOLD OUT 8/1/14). Come join the women of Kettering University to experience the excitement of STEM through a day filled with building, designing, and experiments! Junior Geocacher Badge Workshop in Clinton Twp. SOLD OUT 6/17

Come join us at Canal Park! Girls will bring an adult and meet at a trail to learn about geocaching! Juniors will earn their Geocacher Badge at this event. Geocaching is your chance to be part global explorer and part detective. You'll search for treasure chests known as "geocaches". You must register to attend, space is limited!

Brownie My Best Self Workshop in Detroit

Brownie Girl Scouts are invited to earn and receive their My Best Self badge. This interactive program will give girls an opportunity to learn all about what their bodies need, and how to ask for health help when needed. Activities include make-and-take crafts, games, & meeting a healthcare professional. Participants will need to bring a sack lunch. All other materials and a light snack will be provided.
