More leadership, more fun, more MOXIE!

GSSEM’s new MOXIE programs will give girls more opportunities to learn what excites them, and how to take action to make a difference, than ever before. The new MOXIE program has three distinct opportunities, available throughout the year!

Moxie Talks

Inspired by the revolutionary TED Talks, Moxie Talks will bring together girls and inspirational women who will share invaluable information and inspiration in an 18 minute or less, themed talk. Following the Moxie Talk, girls can network with women influencers during a post reception. MOXIE Talks will be offered quarterly.

Moxie Mentoring

A more intimate opportunity presented and hosted by volunteer mentors. Moxie Mentoring connects women leaders and girls in smaller groups, over a meal, where mentors share advice, or even hands on experiences that help to build girls leadership skills. GSSEM supports the mentor with information and tips to help the mentor develop meaningful experiences for the girls and themselves.

A Moxie Mentor Agrees to:
  • Incur the expense of a 2-hour experience for those in attendance
  • Invite their own network of colleagues to join them and their Girl Scout guests
  • Determine the format/content of the experience
  • Determine the number of girl participants (Recommended ratio is two girls to each adult in attendance)
  • Provide details of Moxie Mentoring experience for pre-promotion in GSSEM communications vehicles
  • Become a Girl Scout member and complete a volunteer background check

GSSEM will provide additional guidelines and planning tips as needed to help the mentor design the girls’ experience. GSSEM will also handle pre-promotion and girl registration.

Network: Camp Moxie includes exciting, interactive, hands-on workshops and activities facilitated by local women leaders in business, philanthropy, and elected office. These women are smart; they’ve got moxie and they have built careers that follow their passions.

Camp Moxie is not your typical summer camp.
Sure, we’ll have camp fires, s’mores, and high ropes...

but Camp Moxie is also where girls take steps to unleash the leader within!

At Camp Moxie girls will:

  • Discover themselves, their passion and find their voice. (You know, things that will serve you well for the rest of your life.)

  • Connect with women who have started businesses, won and lost elections, and smashed the glass ceiling. (Some call them “bossy”—We call them leaders.)

  • Take Action by creating a vision for change, then leading and supporting others to work hard to bring that vision to life. (Leadership is about working together to make the world a better place, and having the courage, confidence and character to make it happen.)
