Congratulations to McKenna Reynolds on earning her Gold Award!

Inspired by a trip to China her freshman year where she “missed seeing the blue sky”, McKenna saw a need for awareness about environmental protection within her early education-12th grade school, Oakland Christian School. She worked with students, staff, and families to make OCS a certified Michigan Green School with Evergreen status (the highest level) in only a year.

McKenna founded the high school Eco Club to monitor, plan, and carry out MGS activities, through which they established Recycling Centers, improved green curriculum, hosted “The Lorax” Movie Night to raise awareness about conservation of natural resources, presented about stewardship in elementary chapel, installed LED light bulbs, installed a new bottle refill station, planned Earth Week Spirit Week, raised funds for future projects, and so much more!

McKenna learned the power of passion and hard work, and she feels empowered to make change with others.

McKenna is graduating from Oakland Christian School in Auburn Hills, MI, is a Juliette Girl Scout, and will be attending Liberty University to study Theatre and English this fall.
