The two dynamic speakers the Feb. 5 Moxie Talks pretty much set the bar higher for GSSEM’s quarterly series! The quarterly event was held at Providence Hospital in Novi and focused on Time Management. The 26 girls and 10 mentors in attendance had the opportunity to hear from two very dynamic women: Lori Kitchen, Director of Development for Wayne County SAFE and Debra Hogue, Sole Proprietress for The Traveling Pants Company, LLC.
“Both women were great! Lori was especially inspiring with her personal stories,” said Caroline Feathers, GSSEM Programs Specialist. “In fact, a few mentioned that this was the best one yet!”
Moxie Talks offers chances for girls in grades 9-12 to learn from professional women in an inspirational TED TALKS format and from one-on-one mentoring. The Talks are the perfect opportunity for girls to get help narrowing their Gold Award topics with some pretty great feedback from women who’ve been there.
Moxie events like this one (Camp Moxie is coming June 23-26) are sponsored by GSSEM, Michigan Women's Foundation and Women Officials Network Foundation. Remember: ATTEND 3 MOXIE TALKS EVENTS & GET $75 TOWARD YOUR GOLD AWARD PROJECT!
