Why Volunteer?

GSSEM Why Volunteer

The strength of the Girl Scout movement rests on the voluntary leadership of our adult members.  Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan depends on over 16,000 adult volunteers to share the Girl Scout movement with girls! Whether you have an hour, a day, a weekend or more, the energy you share with Girl Scouts will instill in girls confidence that will last a lifetime.

We’re looking for volunteers who represent the diversity of the world we live in – men as well as women, senior citizens as well as younger adults, people of all racial and ethnic backgrounds and, of course, our treasured alumnae. As a Girl Scout volunteer you will share in the fun and excitement as girls experience new challenges.

The girls and the community will benefit and have FUN as you help girls to develop the courage, confidence and character they need to succeed in life. By volunteering, you'll acquire new skills, gain professional development experience, have fun, and give back to your community.

How you can help

No previous Girl Scout experience is necessary! Our staff and experienced volunteers will support you! We have expertise in assessing, developing, and producing quality activities for girls. Whether you volunteer for one hour or one year, you’ll have fun and feel great knowing that you have helped empower girls to make the world a better place.
