This week marks Volunteer Appreciation week! GSSEM volunteers are the heartbeat and the core of our organization. Girl Scouting would not exist without their dedication and talents. We couldn’t serve the girls without you, and the untold hours of time that you give define our excellence as a council.

GSSEM honored volunteers at a special recognition ceremony and luncheon on Saturday April 13, 2013 at the First United Methodist Church of Troy.  Award recipients were nominated by their peers to receive prestigious board approved Girl Scout awards and recognitions.

In typical Girl Scout fashion we improvised, using my cell phone to conference remote board members into the meeting.  Our Mission Moment presenter, Rachel Karyakose, accessed her presentation via cell phone to make her remarks.
