The April 8th board meeting was held at our new Flint Service Center. What a beautiful facility! Our Girl Scouts of Southeastern Michigan signage is visible for miles.  This leased space provides work area for staff, meeting space shared with other tenants, our Council Shop, and plenty of free parking.

GSSEM volunteers are the heartbeat and the core of our organization. Girl Scouting would not exist without their dedication and talents. We couldn’t serve the girls without you, and the untold hours of time that you give define our excellence as a council.

National awards are presented to volunteers who have contributed outstanding service while partnering with girls to implement the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through use of the National Program Portfolio, or who have contributed outstanding service to GSSEM’s mission delivery to girl and adult members.

Happy New Year!  I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays.   It was exciting to start the season once again watching Girl Scouts in America’s Thanksgiving Day Parade march down Woodward Avenue wearing green Santa hats!  Their synchronous routine was performed with smiles and enthusiasm despite the cold, ice, and snow.   Congratulations girls for winning the WDIV online contest for best-choreographed team for a second year!
